MONARE WANTS CHIEFS MOVE - MATTHEWS

SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews has opened up regarding the failed pursuit of Bidvest Wits' Thabang Monare claiming the diminutive midfielder is pushing for a move to Kaizer Chiefs.

Monare is one of the players confirmed to not having a future at the newly formed top-flight Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila given his high salary however the fact that the Amakhosi have a transfer ban hanging over their heads means a move to Kaizer Chiefs might not be as straightforward for Monare as would a move to another team be.

"When we enquired about the player Monare from Bidvest Wits, we were informed that the player had an interest in playing for Kaizer Chiefs," Matthews told KickOff.

"And who can blame him for that if it's true? It was only an enquiry and it never went further than that."

"Depends on the terms but he is a good player and we would be interested in boosting our midfield." he added regarding a second attempt to lure Monare to Matsatsantsa.
