CAF Make Big Decisions Amid Covid-19 Pandemic

Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations which AFCON to 2022 due to the global pandemic.

 

 

The tournament was originally scheduled to take place from January 9 to February 6, 2021, in Cameroon but will now take place a year later in 2022.

 

 

Another decision which was taken was that of The 2020 Chan finals which was initially set for September this year in Cameroon, it will now take place in January 2020. 

 

 

The meeting also decided to make the Champions League semi-finals one-legged encounters to be held along with the final in Cameroon while the Confederation Cup semi-finals and final will be held in Morocco in one-legged encounters as well.

 

 

CAF have also made big calls with regards to the women's game, The African football governing body has confirmed the cancellation of the African Women’s Nations Cup which was scheduled to take place later this year while confirming the introduction of a CAF Women’s Champions League which will get underway in 2021.
